regatta Posted September 18, 2012 Share Posted September 18, 2012 do you think that really works? dont you think therell just get angrier and angrier with the system, do you think theyll just try and get better at not getting caught and maybe killing more people to get away? my great great great grandad was a burglar and eventually murderer in victorian times, the harsh regime then didnt seem to stop him..........till he was hung lol Watch out! we better not make them angry, they might start slamming phones down. And do you really think people like the guy who got imprisoned for joking on Twitter needs daily beatings to make him not want to go back? Each case should be looked at individually. The authorities are afraid that they may kick off again and so tread very softly and let the convicts run the "prisons" as they wish. The Strangeways Riot of 1990 cost £55 million to put right. The article makes it clear they've already served their full tariff. It's about how they prove they're fit to return to society, not that they will.
