Nagel Posted September 21, 2012 Share Posted September 21, 2012 I'm always touched by war memorials that honour the names of the enemy that were killed. Last week I visited New College, Oxford and the war memorial there has the names of the three Germans who had been at the college and died in the Great War. It was very controversial when first erected. The Reverend Spooner (he of Spoonerism fame) who was Warden of New College at the time insisted on the memorial.
