Birds
I'd much rather by an original painting by an unknown artist, than buy some print that a million other people have got too. I just have to like the picture, and everyones tastes are different! A painting I would like to see, and possibly buy, is "the fallen madonna with the big boobies" that was often mentioned in Allo Allo.
Birds
Have a look here: http://www.artsderbyshire.org.uk/ Last year, Mrs Smithy266 and I went around loads of places in N E Derbyshire that had loads of exhibitions from folks like you, exhibiting and selling. Have a look at shops like 'Frame it', in Dronfield: they sell, and probably do so on commission. I'll bare that in mind, thanks for that.
DUFFEMS
Do you have any pictures of your work to view?
Birds
Do you have any pictures of your work to view? I used to do a bit of painting years and years ago and did quite a few finished paintings, none of which I kept; I'm just contemplating having a go again thats all, and I was just wondering about how one would go about displaying and/or selling locally - not that I realistically expect to do that any time soon. If you're thinking about it I should do it, better now rather than not doing it and regretting it. When you travel around Derbyshire villages there are lots of local art groups all selling their work, people are always interested in original work. Chris_Sleeps
I bought some paintings in Scarborough that were sold in a market. They had a little exhibition next to the Grand Hotel and you just took them down and went to pay. I'd happily do the same here.
Super Hans
Hi, I was in the Winter gardens the other day and I saw an exhibition of local work where all the pieces were for sale. Sounds perfic for you. In fact according to the Heeley art group (The people who run it, I think), the exhibition is on until the 14th of October so if you're in town I guess you can see if it's something you would be interested in. There are upcoming exhibitions here but there is a selection process. Check out the winter gardens before the 14th! Heeley Art Group.
asksally
I am also planning to visit the Hotels and Pubs showing them the Artists Work. It helps to see a painting hung on a wall before somebody buys it . http://the-modern-gallery-for-landscape-art.myshopify.com/
alchresearch
There's a great place in Dublin where on Sunday morning all the local artists put up their work on the surrounding gate of a city park and you can buy.
