PeteMorris
I always wondered. Abba were Swedish..Right? We know they wrote songs in English. But surely they didn't rhyme in Swedish too. As I assume they recorded them in Swedish and just about every other language too. I don't think songs would be the same unless certain parts of it rhyme. Yes I know I'm a bit weird posing the question, but it's always intrigued me!

Mr Bloke
I think you've started something here ..... This certainly rhymes (not that I'm particularly fluent in Swedish). I remember it on the Eurovision song contest - it was originally sung in Swedish in the qualifying competition to be Sweden's entry, but then rewritten in English because it was felt that it would have a better chance of winning in Brighton in 1974 - which it obviously did! Those were the days ...
Plain Talker
the English translation of the Swedish lyrics to "Ring-Ring" are quite interesting:- Quiet and death are telephone Is there almost as an insult Do not you call and say baby now that you did Everything is so quiet the past No knocking on my door What attracted me tempts no, no, as it should Nothing amuses me right now No one else just you Call the ring, only you give me a call Ring ring, the silence is so complete Ring ring, dispel the fears that grinds If I got a signal, I took a leap The heart did a somersault, ding-dong bing-bong If you call - call - me a call If you call - call - me a call That a phone can eh ' As quietly every day If it were so, there was something wrong anyway, but unfortunately If it just said a word If it was only silent If I had someone pay for someone only prayer of our Lord Nothing amuses me right now No one else just you Call the ring, only you give me a call Ring ring, the silence is so complete Ring ring, dispel the fears that grinds If I got a signal, I took a leap The heart did a somersault, ding-dong bing-bong If you call - call - me a call If you call - call - me a call
