NormAndNorma
During community idea sessions the name and characters came out. This is because celebrating positive results within a population where there is a misperception is called Social Norms - then it was put forward that Norm and Norma could reveal the norms in a gossip type way. The people who attended from the community wanted to make it fun so they came up with the idea of two characters and instead of flyers produced masks so people could get involved in a Facebook Norm and Norma competition and have a laugh. Other ideas included: Present day - having pop up parties and parades around the community Giant community photograph - used on lots of advertising media Truth or Dare - using facts amongst funny dares Nice One - celebrating community achievements as well as the results One thing everyone in the community wanted was to revive some of the old galas and festivals that used to take place. If we'd have had the funding for this it would have been great but we hope the people who attended will get together to form a committee to make this happen. Why didn't you use the money it cost to survey 500 people towards the gala or festival. The way money is spent by SCC is a joke, like the stupid wheel they've erected opposite the Meadowhall tram stop entrance:roll:
Eric_Collins
3 out 5 households don't smoke due to buy as you view fitting new anti-tamper coin machines. Faced with the choice of spending pounds seeing mom, dad, sister or brothers Tv debute on Jeremy Kyle or pounds on fags is a tough call. Plus anyways they all smoke VAT free fags and don't want to cough the info to anyone.

Penistone999
Incidentally, I've cleared a space on my back lawn for the Alco-copter..So you can continue your expeditions from a safe haven! A fortified base ? A safe area for Alcoblog to take off for dangerous missions deep behind enemy lines ( Drydon Road and Buchannon Rd) ?

If it was from a funding application, it could well have had limitations as to what it could be used for.
southcoast
I don't need to insult an entire estate, they do that themselves without thinking. I'm off the cross its a hole. Get out if you have the will, else exist. I agree about moving off southey, used to live there yrs ago near what was the magnet pub close to the roundabout, used to go in southey workings men club too,it was really bad then and my old mates who still live there tell me its even worse now: Hate to say it but most of S5 is a dump, the cross and the rest like longley are very depressing, thankgod I left best thing I ever did, feel sorry for those who are still there to be honest. freeman78
Just to give some more info... The survey was collected from 500 homes which more than meets minimum requirements and the questions varied across different lifestyle habits. The truth is there is a misperception about how many people smoke in the Southey area so it is no surprise that some people will find these facts unbelievable however results show 3 out of 5 people don't smoke which is great! This research has also taken place in 10 other communities in the Yorkshire and Humber and the majority had a misperception about smoking however Southey had some of the best results out of them all - nice one Southey! owt to boost the cross is great but these figures are just rubbish, whats the point of trying to get a true opinion about an area then asking only 500 homes and were crossillians
