The UK is a nation of 'plebs'.

Recommended Posts

Oh come on. Some people have intellect, energy and drive to succeed. Others are lazy and dim witted and struggle to get out of bed to sign on for their benefits - do you think it would remain divided equally for long?

Obviously you are one of the Torys. Did you go to public school ?? Were you 'To the Manor Born' ???................or were you born on the Manor ??:hihi:

You are still a Pleb mate, brainwashed but still a pleb...:)

Did he perhaps have a brain and did he use it?

Do you have a problem with people being well-educated?

Would you prefer to be told what to do by people who can't tell their arse from their elbow?

Do you want to be told what to do - every minute of every day?

If so, who do you want to appoint to do the telling?

How much are you prepared to pay to be told what to do?

You can pay it yourself. - I''m not interested in paying even one penny more because you can''t be bothered to think.

Socialism is the result of education and understanding, Capitalism is the Law of the Jungle, the survival of the fittest.......a very base instinct.

Trouble is these 'Super strong and fit Torys' all hide behind the law.

All the Posh Boys leaving Eton Public School should join the forces, just as an ordinary infantryman and go to Afghanistan. Rub shoulders with working class lads. They may learn a lot.

Do you really believe there is such a division between the parties? The Labour PM before Gordy was educated at a top ranked public school, albeit in Scotland. http://www.goodschoolsguide.co.uk/schools/125641/fettes-college He went to Oxford as did his wife, who from what I've seen gives the impression of being pretty greedy! They are ensuring that their children benefit from their wealth as they already have property interests. This is how things work in most families who achieve financial success.

Personally I think it more odious from those who purport to be socialist/labour. At least the Tories don't pretend they are the caring sharing party.

Intellect and hard work won't ensure you succeed. The wealthiest in this country are wealthy through the fortune of good luck, being born to the landed gentry and inheriting stolen lands upon which rents are paid.

The rest of the people are plebs.

Many of the very wealthiest in this country didn't start out here, but chose to come here, so we probably benefit from their wealth. I also wonder how many sports people, entertainers etc were born into the landed gentry. ;)

I tend to agree with S10mainly who says if the wealth was split up equally we'd be back to square one within a generation. I don't necessarily think the same people would be rich, but I do believe the equal split would soon be negated by people's spending choices; work ethic; talent; luck.

It is fairly obvious when you start looking at family histories that not every family who has had wealth has kept it, also some who start poor have turned their fortune around. Wayne Rooney for instance. Not born into wealth, no noticeable intellect, but a talent that is worth money in today's society. He would have been comfortably off 40 years ago as a pro footballer, but not in the same league as nowadays.

BBC news today are quoting "The Sun" and saying - the word "PLEB" was used - the Sun has seen the police officers NOTE BOOKS so it must be true.

HILLSBOROUGH - Yea it must be true

It's being reported all across the media including the right-wing press. It seems highly likely that the police log books record that he did use those words.

If so it comes down to his word against the police. Not just regular police either, armed diplomatic protection police.

To be perfectly honest it's one man's word against another and I'm not sure it can be proved either way.

The trouble is, as can be seen by the comments on this thread, what he is alleged to have said very much reflects the ideological contempt that many right-wingers have for anyone with less money or status then them.

I *think*, there are provisions in UK law, that determine the word of one policeman to be greater than that of an ordinary citizen. So if it comes to this kind of empass the word of the police officer should theoretically win out... however not sure how that'd stack up in a copper vs MP.

I mean in reality as far as the truth is concerned it would be anybody's word is greater than that of an MP! :hihi:

I'm not against wealth per se, but I don't agree with inherited lands, unless they are taxed. If people had equality of opportunity, then those whom succeed would be the ones who deserve to. whereas at the minute, some are far more equal than others.

Wrt wealth, many of the wealthiest own land without it being public knowledge.

Must admit I tend to agree with this too, however I don't think society would be as unequal a it is now. My point is that people need access to land to create wealth in the first place. Land is merely a tool used to manipulate the lower classes, to manipulate the plebs and to extract from them the fruits of their labour.

There are a few who have lost wealth and a few who have gained wealth. But lots of the aristocratic elite in this country need not work or do anything productive and can live off of others in the form of rents. Blue blood.
