There is no point policing the world until you know for certain who are the good guys. I have to wonder why the Yanks helped the Taliban to fight the Russians. What about the Iran Iraq war....that dragged on for around 10 years while everyone just stood back and said let them get on with it, it's their dispute! Really? The USA backed Iraq sunstantially because at that time Iran was seen as being the US's main enemy in the region. Every day another problem, factions in dispute, someone insulting Mohammed etc.......... How much more crap can the world take ???? In the case of the Iran Iraq war they backed what they considered the lesser of 2 evils. Perhaps the wise course would have been to sell arms to both and leave them to it.
