Most people I know sitting pretty admit they bought them when they were cheap, and admit if prices were as they are now they never could have bought their own house. If you're talking about decades ago when they bought for silly money, then it was in line with incomes at that time. Yes, but they are not now, which is the point I made. People that say I worked hard for it, why can't people now do the same just don't get that UK prices are now many more multiples of typical income than they were when they bought making it orders of magnitude more difficult to get the deposit.
