Guest sibon
However the EDL does not fit Wikis own definition of far right, sad eh? as in strange. Still we live in a soundbite age. Haven't seen you for a while. Been on holiday? Sadly, we live in a Wikipedia age, where the feeble minded can't see beyond Wiki to any reliable source of evidence. Let's see what The Independent say. Or The Guardian. Or the BBC. Or The Telegraph. Even Thisistotalessex have got in on the act:cool: Of course, you might not consider them far right, but a position on any spectrum is related to your own starting point. If you see what I mean. Upperthorpe
I don't need to Google anything to know what variety of scumbags the EDL are thanks. Same sort of scumbag moslems who who preach hate on our streets?
gotone
Ah but the EDL is far right. Sheffield BNP member George Edwards was on the EDL's recent Dewsbury demo. See http://www.hopenothate.org.uk/blog/article/2003/scraping-the-barrell. A basic motto of the far right is "We must secure the existence of our people and a future for White Children." See below for the EDL standing alongside the NF which has those very words on its banner. http://www.islamophobia-watch.com/islamophobia-watch/2012/6/4/edl-joins-neo-nazis-in-attack-on-anti-jubilee-party.html However the EDL are not the BNP or NF
Halibut
Same sort of scumbag moslems who who preach hate on our streets? They have their similarities. The EDL do more drunken shouting of abuse though and have a much more visibly repellent presence than your average Muslim extremist.

The 'extreme right' has four traits according to Roger Eatwell:http://people.bath.ac.uk/mlsre/ "1)anti-democracy; 2) nationalism; 3) racism; 4) the strong state". He adds that violence is now dropped as a characteristic.[31] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Right-wing_politics The EDL simple do not fit the definition of far right. or extreme right. As the BBC and others keep calling them. Or is it that you can just keep repeating a lie until it becomes true?

gotone
You waste your time trying to debate this on SF you will just be abused and have your posts deleted for no reason. I am learning that quickly. I am amazed at so many ignoring facts for blind jingoism.

Even so, I suggest that the criteria that you quote are all applicable to The EDL.

Where as your moslem scumbag rapes young white girls in groups, call for the murder of our troops, burn poppies and think nothing of killing teenage girls in the name of "honour"
