dosxuk
Shall we start off by saying NO to Sharia law court rulings in the UK. Why? The only Sharia courts which are usable in the UK are for civil cases where both parties agree to the use of that court. Same as the various other arbitration offerings. By banning the sharia courts you'd force anyone who has a disagreement about anything to have to take it to court, rapidly filling them with mountains of pointless arguments which could be solved more appropriately elsewhere. donkey
Shall we start off by saying NO to Sharia law court rulings in the UK. Because everyone who isn't in the EDL is in favour of introducing Sharia law, right? DOH! Actually, that would be a better name for them: Defend Our Homeland - DOH. maxmaximus
Name them then. The English Defence League (EDL) is a human rights organisation that was founded in the wake of the shocking actions of a small group of Muslim extremists who, at a homecoming parade in Luton, openly mocked the sacrifices of our service personnel without any fear of censure. Although these actions were certainly those of a minority, we believe that they reflect other forms of religiously-inspired intolerance and barbarity that are thriving amongst certain sections of the Muslim population in Britain: including, but not limited to, the denigration and oppression of women, the molestation of young children, the committing of so-called honour killings, homophobia, anti-Semitism, and continued support for those responsible for terrorist atrocities. Whilst we must always protect against the unjust assumption that all Muslims are complicit in or somehow responsible for these crimes, we must not be afraid to speak freely about these issues. This is why the EDL will continue to work to protect the inalienable rights of all people to protest against radical Islam’s encroachment into the lives of non-Muslims. Because you cant have two seperate laws operating in the same country. Doesnt that make sense ?

dosxuk
Because you cant have two seperate laws operating in the same country. Doesnt that make sense ? Sharia courts can only operate on civil proceedings, and they have to operate within the same legal framework as any other arbitration court, and the 'proper' courts. They can apply whatever additional rules they wish, provided they remain within the laws of the land. So yes, you can have multiple sets of laws operating at once. Criminal proceedings can only be heard in a court of law. Regardless of the defendants religous position.

Makes about as much sense as Sharia law in the year 2012.
