T 42
OK. So Labour are ahead in the opinion polls. But when folk are asked if they would vote Labour with Miliband in charge thaeir poll rating drops considerably. A new poll out shows that folk just don't think he's the man for the job. Is it time to ditch Wallace and get a leader who folks will vote for? http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/double-poll-blow-casts-shadow-over-ed-milibands-big-day-8193160.html Double poll blow casts shadow over Ed Miliband's big day Only one in five thinks leader has what it takes to be PM / Labour trusted even less than Tories to run economy Only two out of 10 people believe that Ed Miliband has what it takes to be a good Prime Minister, according to an opinion poll for The Independent which highlights the mountain the Labour leader still has to climb. ComRes found that almost twice as many people think David Cameron can be a good Prime Minister, and the Conservatives are more trusted on the economy than Labour despite the slide back into recession. alchresearch
Hard to say. We've had this discussion before and there are just no clear leadership challengers in the wings yet. Perhaps Burnham?
L00b
So Labour are ahead in the opinion polls.I'd hazard a guess that they're "ahead" as a result of anti-Coalition backlash, rather than out of merit for their own, proposed policies (which are what, again?) In that context, does the figurehead really matter? (No, I will not trot out the sempiternal 'donkey with a rosette' line)

The rating of Cameron shows how wrong people can be. Please note that 40 pc are not committed but will veer tolabour as the election nears and the recession deepens. The collapse of the third party makes this unlikely, especially when boundary changes are implemented.
