OwlsChick
As far as im aware you have to have some sort of certificate to sell halal meat ect. Remember when i worked at sainsburys and was asked if the frozen prawns were halal:confused:

Plain Talker
There's a guy works down the halal chip shop swears he's Elvis. don't you mean "Swears he's Hafiz?" actually, Halal means that the meat is halal, as, like someone said earlier, fish with scales is halal to eat. Some Schools of thought say Shellfish is haram (like in the rules of Kosher) others say it is permissible. Generally the oil used for frying in halal fisheries is vegetable oil, and chips are fried separately from meat products so it's not cross-contaminated. quisquose
don't you mean "Swears he's Hafiz?" I was initially trying to think of an Asian sounding name to slip in there, but then Islam is not a race so decided not to.

Don't think there is a DC in Sheffield so just take my word for it that it is tip top stuff I believe the KFC on Queens road is/ was serving halal meat. I don't know of a DC in Sheffield, either. There are plenty of halal "Southern Fried Chicken" franchises around Sheffield, particularly in the Wicker/ Spital Hill area, and on the City end of London Road.
