Should plebs be allowed to protect their homes if behind with the rent?

Householders who react with force when confronted by burglars are to get more legal protection, Justice Secretary Chris Grayling has said.

"Grossly disproportionate" force will still be against the law in England and Wales, but the bar will be higher than the current "proportionate" force test.

But opponents of such changes argue they will encourage vigilantism.

This is all good for non-mortgaged-owner-occupiers and people in front with the rent and council tax, but what about plebs?

Suppose somebody is behind with the rent, or has missed a mortgage payment, or perhaps is behind with council tax. Many would say they do not even have a right to be in "their" home.

Should people behind with the rent/mortgage/council tax be allowed to protect their dwellings/abode?

yes silly question isnt it?

Suppose you have exercised your right to buy to let, and you rent out your property to some working tax credit claimant on housing benefit and their claim gets messed up - so they haven't paid any rent...

If they haven't paid rent, why should they be able to protect the dwelling they are currently occupying?

Should squatters be able to protect their abode?

No, if you are so stupid to get behind with your rent then you deserve to be sent to a gulag style facility.

Why do you attack people on benefits, I know people who were in work one minuet and then laid off the next, hope it happens to you, Arrogant twit.:loopy:

Seconded-the comments are from a person shielded from the real world,a person who can indulge in flippancy, who has probably inherited wealth and never worked.
