Titanic99
If the welfare bill wasn't so such a bloated drain on society it wouldn't be a problem, unfortunately the last government handed out benefits left right and centre. I support the cut in benefits, I'm sick of seeing my tax money being handed out to laxy feckless morons who can't be bothered to get of their fat arse to earn a crust like the rest of us. Benefits should be reserved for those people that need it, not those who just want a lazy life. To do that would take a very radical left-wing government, would you support that? andygardener
But those same people are the very ones who'll find their Benefits cut, whilst the well-off get tax reductions at the same time. They don't get benefits, and their tax free allowance has been hugely increased.
Darth Vader
The poorest in society are those who work damn hard for minimum wage and it's environs. Those who do not work have a better carry on than them, which as I understand it is what the gov are trying to deal with. Yes, but what is the RIGHT, MORAL, ETHICAL, way to go about this? It is surely, to reward the person who is working, not further punish the poor, to further line the pockets off the financially super rich. How is punishing the poor going to help the plight of the person on the minimum wage? It is NOT. The pittence he/she receives will be worth EVEN LESS, as the economy slides further down the toilet due to the super rich ammassing all the wealth and taking it from the masses. Do you really belive the 'We're all in the Caymans together' line?

I completely agree, it's a shame this government does not agree with you, they just want to rape everyone from the middle class downwards period and if you think any cuts in the benefits system which also includes, children, the elderly, the sick ect will reduce your tax then I'm sorry to say, you are deluded. Titanic99
They don't get benefits, and their tax free allowance has been hugely increased. This is what disturbs me as people actually believe this to be true. The attached link shows the number of Housing Benefit claimants who are in work and they are having their Benefit cut to give the rich their tax reductions. http://fullfact.org/factchecks/90_93_95_percent_housing_benefit_claimants_in_employed_work-27483
Anna B
Perhaps if the last government hadn't handed over a £1 trillion debt and a £175 billion annual deficit it wouldn't be necessary to make these cuts to pay for it all. The situation is well beyond party politics and to suggest it is, merely provides a distraction. It is a Global phenomenon brought about by the bankers, aided and abetted by governments around the world.
Tradescanthia
The Torys aren't only shooting themselves in the foot, they are blowing their own brains out.:hihi: If Labour get their act together and Milliband shows a bit more aggression they will walk the next election. As for this Forum, it is too full of the 'I'm all right Jack' types. They have no compassion or concern for their fellow man, many seem to take delight in inflicting pain and misery on people less fortunate than themselves. They rant on about 'hard work', and self reliance whilst probably occupying boring little office jobs and reading forums most of the day. I myself had my own business for 14 years and before that I spent over 10 years working on a 'payment by results' system. AND I AM STILL A SOCIALIST and always will be. I could name a couple of furummers who live on their own, leading sad little lives and deluding themselves that they are better than other people. One cliche descibes them.........two bob millionaires. They would rob their own grandmothers........

Get a life, better still get an education, stop reading the crappy tabloids and try reading between the lines.
