lil-minx92
Lots of stuff is being written about the murky underworld following a well known celebrity being accused of wrongdoings. One issue swimming around the internet is that a 'D Notice' was issued by the government (under Tony Blairs orders) relating to the Dunblane massacres. A D Notice is effectively a gagging order that renders certain issues a state secret / unreportable for a certain number of years. They come in 3 types, 30 year, 80 year and 100 year. Apparently Dunblane has a 100 year Notice. Very few of these have ever been issued (apparently) and never for simple criminal acts by a single individual. Is it possible to find out if a D Notice has been applied to this issue?
medusa
Even if it were possible to find out whether a D notice had been obtained, forums count as 'the media' under their definitions, so we would be very unlikely to allow discussion of it, since discussion of the D notice breaches the D notice. They're kind of like very large super-injunctions. For that reason, I'm going to close this. Please don't start any more threads about this or related issues.
