callippo
I was under the impression they were supposed to have concealed them because they didn't want them to fall, postwar, into the hands of those pesky Burmese independence liberation fighters (led by Aung San Suu Kyi's old man). At least some of the Burmese indpendence movement, just like in wider India, sympathised and even collaborated with the Japanese. but seeing as today's average 2013 Burmese goes all wide-eyed and has a great deal of trouble figuring out how to work a basic Nokia mobile phone, maybe getting into a panic just in case their predessessors managed to figure out how to assemble and fly what were in those days state of the art fighter aircraft might have been a touch on the paranoid side in the case of the British.
