Davidmufc Posted October 15, 2012 Share Posted October 15, 2012 Hi all, Just moved up to Sheffield and looking for some people to have a friendly game of poker with, with a fairly cheap buy in for the night. Used to play in casinos or a house with friends in Swansea where we'd have a £5 or £10 buy in and play for a few hours in the evening. We play every Sunday night, I'm sure I could swing you an invite - kinda depends on what kind of a person/player you are! Although we hardly ever play Texas Hold 'em, and we never play in a casino (no smoking). we do have a lot of fun. The rules are few, and slightly loose, and thus sportsmanship is pretty important. Our main game is 7 card mexican stud, and we play 7 card mexican stud, 5 card stud, 5 card draw and the very rare hand of texas hold em or omaha. Having a good time is pretty much why I play, I made a small amount of money online before and usually when I played I'd be in the top 3/4 out of the 10 of us, but by no means a great player! Well you should if you're playing for real money which is implied with the op talking about buy in amounts, gambling for money in the home is illegal and a criminal offence. it's very serious. Everyone in this thread should pay close attention to this, gambling for money at home is a criminal offence. I'm quite shocked you are all so open about it. I have no mates around here interested in poker, which I love. My game is Texas hold 'em usually £10 in no rebuys. Used to pay 1-2 times a month.
