Bonjon
I have just been browsing HUKD and noticed this thread http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/tesco-cathedral-city-twinpack-should-6-55-for-1-1336534#comments , it really goes to show how greedy some people can be. Its a deal at Tesco for cheese being £1 for 2 blocks, due to the RRP being £6.55 people have been and bought 10's of blocks of cheese due to it being cheap. Have you ever seen other examples of greed on large scales?

Have you ever seen other examples of greed on large scales? I agree ... it's downright greed! The cheese should be rationed to one twinpack each per month. But ... It brings back terrible memories of the 'Great Cheese Famine', way back in '83. 'Camembert' was changing hands openly on street corners for £32 per kilo, 'Stinking Bishop' was being watered down by unscrupulous fromageres injecting lethal doses of Primula spread into it, and 'Y Fenni' was being smuggled from Abergavenny into this country in hollowed out leeks and daffodils by the cunning Welsh! Recently, on a secret mission to the visitors centre of Wensleydale Cheese (Hawes, Yorkshire Dales), I noticed huge stockpiles of the stuff, as seen here (picture taken furtively by 'alcocam'). It's obvious that they're hiding the stuff in the visitors centre to hike up the prices! (Known in the trade as 'Wallace and Grommiting'). This should of course be made illegal, and I urge people not to buy Wensleydale (In any form) for the foreseeable future (or until I give the thumbs up). Have you ever seen other examples of greed on large scales? Years ago Safeways (as was then) had a special offer on fresh orange juice for 10p per carton. There were people trundling it out wholesale, by the full trolley load! Some with 2 or 3 trolleys of it! I have to admit, I bought about 20 cartons. Afterwards I wondered why, I was sick of the damn stuff, and I couldn't even give it away locally, as everyone else was sick of it too!
sheffeeld
A lot of supermarkets put in a "6 cartons/packs/items per customer" with such offers. They should just go to CostCo and buy in bulk to start with! It can be annoying if someone swipes them all though...
