truman
Will these proposed receipts give an idea of how much CO2 will be produced when the fuel is burned, and an estimate of the cost to the environment of it? No but neither will it show how much good is done by people being able to get around to work...
Hots on
A lot of people wrongly think they're being shafted by the oil companies or perhaps the petrol station with the price of fuel, when its actually the government with the duty that is slapped on it; the breakdown of what you're actually paying for on the receipt may shame the government into bringing it down. If they lowered fuel duty etc then where would you like to make up the difference?

Some models of car are more fuel efficient than others and the cost of the VED of each model of car reflects that.
Hots on
If they lowered fuel duty etc then where would you like to make up the difference? Well are'nt they (the government, greens and general lefties) wanting less cars on the road? less cars = less fuel duty paid, so where do they propose to make up the difference? I beleive the difference will be made up by the economic activity that will be invigorated by less expensive fuel.

Instead of asking a question why not answer one....? When did the government say they wanted less cars on the road? Seems strange for you to lump the tories in with "greens and general lefties" strange bedfellows indeed...

Hots on
it would get very complicated when I'm doing my expenses I dont see why. and it wouldn't make a jot of difference to the planet. Whats that got to do with the price of fish?
Rupert_Baehr
I don't know why taxes should have to be printed on fuel receipts. A number of German petrol stations have a sign on the pump which says: "For every liter of fuel you buy, you pay the Federal Government X cents in taxes." ANGELFIRE1
Will these proposed receipts give an idea of how much CO2 will be produced when the fuel is burned, and an estimate of the cost to the environment of it? Happily how much CO2 is produced is well down my list of things to worry about. The price of the fuel is paramount to me. Last time I broke the costs down it was something like this, per gallon - Fuel 60p Duty + Vat 85p So at 60p a gallon fuel is quite reasonable - duty and Vat is the killer. Angel.
