peteswright
Im having occasional starting problems. engine turns but wont fire up. Had new crank sensor fitted which cured it for a month. Had it in garage to be checked, and they cant find anything wrong, it started for them after towing it to garage. Stumped!!! its starting now, but am unsure about using it in case it lets me down while out. Anyone had similar situation?.

Solihull Boy
Intermittent problems like this are the worst sort, sounds a bit like an immobiliser issue, in that it's not deactivating properly. If it happens again, try locking and then unlocking the vehicle to see if it allows it to start. Is it petrol or diesel? Immobilisers usually cut power to the fuel solenoid, so a test on that circuit might be useful

peteswright
What made you decide to change the crank position sensor? The garage I use and trust, said its almost always the crank sensor that causes this problem, and it did, for a month i had no trouble.

sedith
One of the coil packs could be on the way out? This can cause intermittent starting problems ... it happened on my Megane. All in all I had 4 coil packs fitted in the 3yrs I owned it from new. Get it down to that Renault Specialists on Meadowbank Road, they cured mine! alchresearch
I think CLIP is the specialist Renault diagnostic gear. Try and get it checked out with someone with this first.
