A record number of people are at work in the UK as unemployment falls again

Recommended Posts

We don't need to build them there are plenty of empty ones...haven't you seen them? The companies are there as in an earlier post, the work is there..it's just that the British people appear to not want to do it...still better the company takes any investment abroad eh?

I've seen plenty being built over the past decade and they are still building them.

I wouldn't be against British companies investing abroad and creating jobs abroad, maybe they would even pay UK tax assuming the UK tax system works in their favour. I think there are many UK companies that employ people in other countries but pay tax here, that sounds like a win win situation.

Example, Indian call centre staff, much better to employ the Indians in India than here, better still employ British people here.

And can you tell us why borrowing is up year upon year since 2010? oh the economy has shrunk again and is set to get worse.

German car manufacturing is down, British car manufacturing is up. The British economy is in a far better state than the rest of Europe.

Just pray that the Tories stay in power, if the other lot get back in its all over.

It is easy to fall from a high place and even easier to rise from a low position.

And no matter whether they rise or fall you will still be there carping.

Lets make this clear-most cars assembled in the UK are not British, simply made here.Components are made elsewhere, profits repatriated, and control is external. It is easy to expand with unused capacity, impossible where production is 100 pc of potential. The Uk expanded because it was underutilised.

There are no British owned manufacturers of cars on a mass basis.

There aren't enough data in that statement to say that the British economy is stronger than the German economy.

How many cars did the Germans make last month?

What was the value of those cars?

How many did they export?

What was the value of those exports?

How do the numbers compare with the numbers for September last year?

How many cars did the Britons make last month?

What was the value of those cars?

How many did they export?

What was the value of those exports?

How do the numbers compare with the numbers for September last year?

Please note I am in now way supporting the posters viewpoint because as you say more data is needed before you can come close to drawing any major conclusions, but it is an interesting point that the UK is exporting more cars than it imported for the first time since 1976.
