poppet2
Funny that! Petrol, gas and electric are the highest they have ever been. I guess the everyday things we all use, don't count. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-19965934

taxman
Well the pace of inflation is slowing only because it's been going so fast previously. If someone runs half a mile in 1 minute, then slows down and runs the next half in only two minutes it still makes a 3 minute mile. When inflation starts to be -(minus) then we might possibly start to recover to the point we were a few years ago.

WeX
More government lies. Nothing new there then. Inflation rates are calculated by the ONS who is the UK’s largest independent producer of official statistics, not the government, but dont let that get in the way of your ill informed and politically biased accusations

I guess the everyday things we all use, don't count. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-19965934 If inflation is still positive then they will be the highest they've ever been, they're just going up slightly more slowly now. Cyclone
Have we ever had negative inflation (if that's not a contradiction in terms)? Deflation, it's generally considered to be a bad thing, you can end up in a deflationary spiral as your economy slowly shrinks.
