WeX
Umm, we have.. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/8009718.stm Rail fares went down as well as they were linked to inflation and there was immense wailing from the TOC's about that... That's RPI and this thread is about CPI (I thought)
WeX
I certainly shall not allow it to cloud the issue. Arh so your accusation is not down to being ill informed, its down to your wish to lie to everyone. Makes sense I suppose.
AWOL
Arh so your accusation is not down to being ill informed, its down to your wish to lie to everyone. Makes sense I suppose. True inflation is about 6%. High fuel prices ensure that inflation remains high. The value of peoples savings is decreasing in real terms at about 4% per year. It is a double whammy to hard working people who have saved. This government is really ripping them off. Women who were born after 1954 also now cannot collect a pension until they are 66. This government are thus cheating them out of another £30,000 or so with this alone. Plus free prescriptions, bus passes and fuel allowance have been tied to this age. Women born in this period are being hammered into the ground financially by this bunch of unelected multimillionaires (inherited money).

You do know the CPI was introduced as the inflation rate quoted by UK governments by Labour in 2003 don't you.
AWOL
You do know the CPI was introduced as the inflation rate quoted by UK governments by Labour in 2003 don't you. This government have not withdrawn it and so are totally responsible as it is they who have the power to change it. Labour would have introduced it over 30 years, not 5 years like this bunch of thieves.Women who were born after 1954 also now cannot collect a pension until they are 66. Mecky
All prices are shooting up well above the rate of inflation. The only things that aren't are peoples' wages. Something will have to give. Now is the winter of our discontent.
Cyclone
Labour would have introduced it over 30 years? But instead just introduced it with immediate effect in 2003. I'd hardly call being equalised with men to be 'cheating' them.
Cyclone
All prices are shooting up well above the rate of inflation. That's a contradiction in terms. The rate of inflation is a measure of how quickly prices are rising.
Anna Glypta
All prices are shooting up well above the rate of inflation. The rate of inflation is the rate that prices are shooting up.:hihi:
