Strix
Most British systems are water-filled radiators, so unlike the 'ducted air' systems common in the States they don't usually suffer from dust/bacteria/moulds. You obviously haven't looked down the back of a radiator recently The ones with fins on the backs or between double banking are the worst I bought a radiator brush and set to work with it and the vacuum cleaner. Loads of dust was dislodged An ioniser or better still jml globe will help too
Jillybabes
Must say I never think to clean behind the radiators, but on the allergy front I found something that works. Pirinase nasal spray, and a antihistimine tablet together and haven't so much as sniffed!
