Without turning this into The Rise And Fall Of The Third Reich, Lebensraum was the central tenet of Hitler's foreign policy from 1933, in particular towards the east which he saw as where the German race could go forth and multiply. The only person he was really worried about was Stalin as Russia was the only country with a larger population than Germany in Europe and which he saw as National Socialism's greatest enemy with its Bolshevism being perceived as Jewish, Slavic and Communist.
