fifakinghy
Hi, I am new to the vintage radio and just bought a Grundig TK14 from a vintage market today. There is no mic so I am looking for somewhere in Sheffield to get one. The only proper mic I have known is GDM311 and ebay.co.uk seems no results. Probably a mic suitable for 5-pin din connector should be fine. Any suggestions?
Obelix
Have you powered the recorder up yet? Those use valves as far as I know and it's probably best to start them softly the first time just to get the valves checked and working OK. As for a mic, you could see what Bardwell's on London road can find - that'd be my first choice around Sheffield.

carosio
Looks like it uses a moving coil (dynamic) mic so is probably high impedance, if so any of this type should work.
fifakinghy
Thanks guys. I have emailed to them coz they don't open on Sundays. Their online shop is still unavailable now.
carosio
Unless its changed, Bardwells is closed on Mondays. Apparently, the mic is 200mv sensitivity at 0.5 megohm impedance, typical for valve mic amplifiers. Is the mic input 3-pin DIN or 5 pin?
fifakinghy
It is 5-pin. Unfortunately I called the Bardwells and they told me they don't have those. Looks like I have to order one on ebay on international delivery.
roddew
I'm pretty sure I have an old Grundig mike New In Box. Unfortunately I can't access it right now to check model number. If you might be interested please PM me some contact details and I can let you know when I'm back at home. Regards, Rod.
