My mother smoked until she found she was expecting me, then stopped, which was quite advanced of her for 1960! My dad smoked cigarettes until I was about 10 then swapped to cigars or a pipe. Most of my family smoked - I just never felt the need or the urge. It's probably just as well because I think had I started I'd have had a hell of a job stopping!
