Conrod
People who kid themselves are pretend Tories, plus people who are not who/what they appear to be.............Be more specific, what's a pretend Tory? What do they kid themselves to be? Remember that most English voters are decidely Conservative, and outside of the inner city sink estate areas the Tory majority is massive. My take on it would be a deluded arriviste whose grandiose self-perception is inversely proportional to their socio-economic status and yet still believes that if they align themselves to a political philosophy, that history has proven to be elitist and clannish, they will somehow, one day, be allowed into the country club. Rupert_Baehr
Who's going to pay? If Millipede felt there was anything here which might nail the Tories, would not his deep-pocketed Laour benefactors pay? - Would they not (at least) provide seed capital? Please arrange this well known phrase or saying for a clue: Your money where your mouth is put.

I think it's an failed attempt to try and make a dig at the right because New Labour succeeded where Old Labour failed.
