ANGELFIRE1
According to the press, the Parasites who haunt Parliament still persist in allegedly "cheating us" over their expenses. They have been instructed not to use first class, unless it's the cheaper option. "MPs who have travelled first-class on expenses include the Transport Secretary Patrick McLoughlin, Cabinet Office minister Francis Maude, Transport Minister Norman Baker, shadow chancellor Ed Balls and former chancellor Alistair Darling, the paper said. In total there were 113 Labour MPs, 48 Conservatives, 19 Liberal Democrats, two Plaid Cymru and three Scottish National Party who have claimed for first class rail travel in the past year. They are still on board the gravy train. Angel.
truman
They may have claimed it but did they get reimbursed for it?
SevenRivers
Is it more productive for them to be: a) in First Class where they can work in comfort b) in cattle class and do no work
ANGELFIRE1
Apparently "first class" can be four times more expensive than "standard tickets". After the expenses debacle they were instructed NOT to use first class. As it has been reported, they made a claim for the travel, if they received the payment that's irrelevant, the fact is they should NOT have claimed for it in the first place. It's not a difficult rule to understand. Angel.
Marc75
But I think you can also work in the cattle class. I do it often and its ok. I drove recently by train from Brussels to Cologne and corrected some online printing stuff, and I made it – sitting in the second class.

A very valuable piece of research.
