Mecky
Further to the above it has now been established that high ranking civil servants in John Major's government were aware of widespread sexual abuse at Knowl View School in Rochdale (which was frequented by Cyril Smith) http://www.theguardian.com/society/2014/oct/14/child-abuse-inquiry-claims-john-major-government-refused-act-cyril-smith Does this fit in with Operation Fernbridge of the 79 to late 80s government? skinz
Does this fit in with Operation Fernbridge of the 79 to late 80s government? I would hate to think it was "party" specific.

taxman
A review of the handling of allegations of child abuse by prominent figures has found no evidence that records were deliberately removed or destroyed. Ministers asked the head of the NSPCC to examine how the Home Office dealt with files alleging abuse from 1979-99. Peter Wanless's report said it was "not possible" to say whether files were removed to cover up abuse - but found "nothing to support" such a concern. The fact remains, 14 highly pertinent and incriminating files are still strangely missing.
