gnvqsos
My comment was not a derogatory remark to any single family but to merely point out that they were not members of the typical stero-typing the press report on. By stressing they were from two parent homes you implicitly slighted single-parents.
andygardener
You are suggesting that a gang of 20 or so youths and girls premeditated a murder. I am saying that the same gang went out with the intention of avenging some real or perceived slight and as happens with an out of control mob, they have finished up being directly or indirectly involved in a murder. Given the nature of the weapons they armed themselves with and their immediate willingness to deploy them when faced with their rivals it seems unlikely in the extreme that there was never any intent on their part that death may occur as a result and this was just a spur of the moment group madness. A samuri sword is not a weapon for a bit of a scrap, it's a weapon of war whose only purpose is to kill. Even if the leader nof the gang was a bit more loco than the rest of them they armed themselves with weapons just as potentially deadly and followed him in the attack that was the innevitable consequence of what they had set out armed with. The premeditation if not to definately kill but to accept that death may well result from their actions seems pretty clear cut.

There was ample evidence of premeditation and planning;no one who was party to those plans could fail to realise that the intention was to cause very serious harm.
