Colt
Possible alternator fault, earthing fault or some sort of wiring fault.
truman
Are the battery terminals tight? The red battery light usually means that the battery isn't being charged sufficiently by the alternator so could be a faulty alternator or loose connections or bad battery..or maybe a loose alternator drive belt? Why was the battery changed in the first place?
alchresearch
Who fitted it? Did they do a BSI reset? If not, do this to avoid all manner of quirky electrical faults: http://www.bba-reman.com/content.aspx?content=peugeot_bsi_body_control_failure And like Truman says, check the battery was fully charged. Tomm06
Take it to Halfords, they can check your battery and alternator for free
frededwards
Take it to Halfords, they can check your battery and alternator for free Hmmm. I'd rather take it to somewhere that actually has trained staff. The last Muppet I saw at Halford's required help to don a Hi-Viz vest. If they can't dress themselves, I wouldn't want them touching my car.

Peugeot are very funky when it comes to the electrics if that procedure has not been done after the battery has been disconnected they do allsorts of strange things, when that procedure has been done and the charge light is still on you will need to check that the alternator is charging the battery if you have not got a multimeter or a battery tester you will have to take it somewhere to have the charging circuit tested,, and don't take to Halfords

RootsBooster
What was the reason for replacing the battery in the first place? If it wasn't holding charge, it may be that it's actually the alternator that simply wasn't charging the battery. Did the fitter bother to test the alternator?
