poppet2
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-tees-20135248 I know the house needs to be gutted, but it just goes to show, the real price of bricks and mortar.

Jeffrey Shaw
And if the vendor (or defaulting mortgagor) had bought it for full value, he/she might be just that too!
poppet2
No, it shows the harmful effects of vandalism and disreputable areas- "Location, location, etc..." But once families start living in these run down areas as was the case six years ago, such vandalism would be wiped out. Think about it, I wonder how much that house originally cost to build? In that respect it probably was a bargain.
S10mainly
There is another one on the same street witha guide price of £1000 and one for sale at £27k - It really must be a shocking place
S10mainly
http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/Burnley.html?sortByPriceDescending=false However, you can get a house somewhere fairly decent for potentially less money
Expat owl
Go onto Google street view and have a look. Not the nicest area although it's obvious that some residents are trying to keep their properties decent. It's those people that I really feel sorry for !!! poppet2
I'm surprised a London landlord didn't buy it, it's about the cost of a garage in London.
