medusa
Which types of self harm release the endorphins? Pretty much anything which overstimulates the nerve endings, which would include everything from exercising way too much to burning or cutting oneself. mikem8634
I only asked the question because I had never heard of what you explained. It does not mean what you say is incorrect, and I have not spent any time checking on google. You are welcome to PM me and it is an interesting subject. Pretty much anything which overstimulates the nerve endings, which would include everything from exercising way too much to burning or cutting oneself. Ok then - a good place to start for general info would be here http://www.mind.org.uk/help/diagnoses_and_conditions/self-harm#why
maxmaximus
(Thank you moderators) Back to the discussion. I am interested in the endorphin effect from “pain”. I’m very keen to understand if other elements of pain can release the endorphins at will. Anyone got thoughts on that (from experience) Vigorous exercise releases endorphins which can put one into a state of euphoria.
