gmarshman
I used to visit a pub in period 1962 to 1964 ish called the Soveriegn , at Birds Edge about 4 miles from Penistone every Friday and Saturday . This pub was brilliant and usually had a resident rock band called the Sabres. This was a brilliant pub and atmosphere and a return home back to Sheffield without fear of the dreaded breathaliser was a bonus. Anyone out there remember these halycon days at the Sovereign ? High Green
http://www.birdsedge.co.uk/ No reference on the above to a pub, though a tentative reference to a Sovereign Garage.
