If you don't have anything stiff (as already suggested) such as wire, tubing, knitting needle, garden cane, twig... make a 'tube' by rolling a sheet of newspaper up tightly until it is narrow enough to fit through the hole and then either pass the cable through the tube (if there's room) or sellotape it to the tube and pull the tube through! I wonder how you made the hole in the first place... If you drillled it all the way through from one side then surely the drill bit itself would be long enough to use as your 'poker' ... and if you drilled it from both sides how do you know that the holes are in line anyway?
