jen_clem
I would like to get into fishing. I don't have any equipment- any ideas (about hiring and places to go fishing around North Sheffield?)
princessL
I would go to Climax Fishing Tackle shop in Dronfield to get your stuff and while you are there see if they can recommend the best places to go.
matt1889
For ideas as to where to go fishing in Sheffield, try the link below!. It contains most of the venues around Sheffield, and gives rough details of openings, Charges, etc. http://www.go-fish.co.uk/yorkshiresouth.htm If you are wanting some beginners tips about angling, you can also try the link below, Im not sure how long you have been fishing, or whether you are a new starter, but ive been fishing for a while, and I found some useful tips on this link! http://www.fishing4fun.co.uk What I would recommend is buying all new, beginners fishing equipment! Theres no point buying second hand, as at first you just want to get a feel for the sport! I would personally recommend going down to the Wicker, just off there you will find Bennett's which is on Stanley St. The best thing about Bennett's is that they don't pressure sell anything to you, or oversell!...... If you tell them that your just starting up, they will give you full information and help about the basic equipment that you will need! And the prices are brilliant as well! Check out the link below, this is Bennett's partner home page and should have some equipment on there! https://www.bosfish.co.uk/f_index.html Good Luck - And Happy Angling! stumpy
There are some really productive fisheries in the north of Sheffield but I don't of anywhere that you could hire fishing tackle. Sheffield has to be one of the best cities in the country when it comes to places to fish, there are many stillwaters, the canal should not be overlooked and the river Don is really starting to produce qualty fish as is the Rother in places. You can pick up some good s/h tackle and some excellent cheap new tackle from Universal Angling on Mansfield road. Do a search on google for Anglers net as I cannot post a link until I have made 5 posts! There is some excellent info on the site and some links to other sites which will give you info on places to fish in the area. Stumpy.
desy
For a first timer try the Pond at back of Jeld wen at Woodhouse Mill near the Prinny Royal. My eldest has fished it when he is certain to catch something. Not very big fish but you do catch them. Think it's 50p for day from the Gatehouse.
