Why don't people like criticism?

Recommended Posts

I think in some cases it's not them that object to being criticised but their beliefs or something (or someone) they have a lot of emotional investment in.

I also think the way in which that criticism comes across is important, criticising but being down right nasty will always raise objections.

It's not critiscism that's the problem. It's the method used to achieve it. Some people are just down right arrogant, some are just plain nasty, some resort to personal insults. Others do it just for the sake of it (trolling).

Did anyone ask for your opinion?

it can also be constructive or not, constructive criticism is useful, non constructive criticism often isn't.
