So. Two years of Cool Beans. It’s been a fine two years. A fine two years indeed.

 

In those two years we've put on parties at the Bowery, Redhouse, Green Room, Penelopes, Sheffield Uni Union, Great Gatsby, Soyo, West End, DQ, Harley, Academy and the Raynor Lounge. We’ve had guest acts as diverse as Slamboree, Correspondents, Renegade Brass Band, MJ Cole, Jeramiah Ferrari, Wet Nuns, Balkan Bandits, Mr. B the Gentlemen Rhymer, DJ Shepdog, Mary Anne Hobbs, Smiling Ivy and Ham Pocket. We've hosted stages at Tramlines, Peace in the Park and Tuesday Club. We've showcased Cool Beans DJ sets all over the UK including performances at festivals like Boomtown Fair, Beat-Herder, Eden, Kendal Calling and Y-Not. Our radio show had runs on Forge and BCR and we more recently released a podcast on iTunes. We've created Cool Beans TV, a Cool Beans Menu and a Cool Beans Listings Column for Now Then Magazine. We also gave birth to Clothes Line and once threw ham at a vegetarian by accident. Ah yes, a fine two years indeed.

 

So no longer a baby more of a toddler, it’s probably a good idea to have a party of some sort. You don’t think we should? Well we’re going to have one whatever you think and we've chosen the quaint, picturesque and might we add newly refurbished Fox & Duck pub in Broomhill to celebrate. Not only that we've somehow managed to persuade the incredible NEW YORK BRASS BAND down for a very special performance. You may have caught them rocking the good times at Peace in the Park, Beacons, Secret Garden Party and countless other festivals this summer. On top of that the illustrious HAM POCKET are taking care of DJ duties, these guys are fresh from completing a 1-date tour of the UK and their saxophone player is reported to be dating Cher. Also on hand will be some classic Cool Beans entertainment; MAN IN A MONKEY COSTUME, TWISTER MAT, AN AIR GUITAR, FREE NUTS and introducing BOXY, the nation’s favourite box.

 

In true Cool Beans fashion we've already spent the whole budget and kept it free entry so won’t be making any cash, but we will be getting drunk so you might as well join us. We've certainly come a long way since our first event (http://www.facebook.com/events/138684149511894/) – hang on, just noticed the date, it turns out this is our 25th months and 3 days anniversary....
