LeMaquis
While wondering why the Denis MacShane thread had been merged with the Abu Hamza thread I noticed that the writ for the by-election has been moved. According to the Star it will be in 3 weeks, presumably November 29th. http://www.thestar.co.uk/news/by-election-to-be-held-in-rotherham-to-replace-disgraced-rotherham-mp-1-5107613

Guest sibon
Moran .. McShane. I'm starting to lose count. Are there any of the party not on the fiddle? If you begin to lose count at two... There are loads of Labour Mps not on the fiddle. And loads that are, in the other party Not so many prosecutions though. Funny that.
andygardener
Anyhow, the Labour party or the One Nation Disraeli Party or whatever they're calling themselves this week seem to have alienated half their local members for vetoing the local front runner because he was male and muslim. Good news for Yvonne Ridley though.

LeMaquis
Police to re-open Denis MacShane expenses investigation http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-21119031 "He apologised to his constituents, saying his actions were "grievous"." Guilty, m'lord. Have mercy. Another trial involving a Labour MP on the fiddle in the run-up to the next election will remind a lot of people how bad the expenses scandal under Brown was. Mister M
Haha, released from prison McShane is now complaining that it's not fair that he copped for it while others got away with it. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2706888/Ex-minister-Denis-Macshane-jailed-bogus-expenses-claims-turns-colleagues.html Oh dear, how sad, but nevermind
newcomer01
I am sure that anyone watching the local news on T.V last night was much interested in the 6 weeks of being incarcerated at H.M pleasure by the ex Rotherham MP. How arrogant can you be to take the opportunity to plug the memoirs of an ex MP caught making false financial claims ,and only serving 6 weeks of a 6 month stretch. To think that anyone is remotely interested in anything that he has to say.Even maintaining how inmates commented how they thought his sentence was harsh and how the judge acknowledged that the ex MP did not make from the false accounting but still gave him 6 months.
