The Abu Hamza deportation thread

....but could be a "few weeks" before he's away, according to the BBC news.

Would've thought "tonight" would've been a better idea......

Radical cleric Abu Hamza has launched a last-minute High Court bid to avoid extradition to the United States.

A second terror suspect, Khaled Al-Fawwaz, has also mounted a legal challenge. It is expected that their applications will be heard as a matter of urgency, but no date has yet been set.

The move for injunctions was confirmed by a spokeswoman for the Judicial Office.

Can I ask who keeps footing the bill for his lawyers? Legal Aid and the taxpayer again?, more cost at our expense again.

QUOTE=Swampster;9214117]The judge has stopped the extradition taking place on the grounds of this new appeal...

This is beyond a joke!

You couldn't make it up, could you?[

Here's a quote from Wikipedia in relation to what it's costing us all.

On 18 January 2007, Lord Justice Hughes made an order for the recovery of the full costs of the defence of the race-hate charges, estimated in excess of 1 million pounds. This judgement was based on his view that "the story I have been told today (by Masri) is simply not true" that he [Masri] had no share in a £220,000 house in Greenford, west London. Masri had claimed it belonged to his sister. The court also found that Masri was contributing £9000 a year for private education for his children.[24] The Daily Mail reported in 2009 that the TaxPayers' Alliance estimated that the father-of-eight Masri had so far cost Britain £2.75 million in welfare payments, council housing and legal costs.[25]

Unbelievable! Get him on the first most uncomfortable transport outta here, and worry about the rights and wrongs of it after!
