bazjo2009
I have a large 3 phase box in my unit and want to run some sockets to an outside cabin for some sockets . I have bought a small garage consumer unit but am unsure of how to connect it being 3 phase . Obviously i have a red blue and yellow wires , all of which are live . Is it possible or will it need to be converted .
ChrisT70
you need a neutral and one of your phases. you also need a competent qualified sparky to do it for you i'm afraid. please dont go any further on your own !
cbr900
So this supply is already connected to the main box , where has it come from ?? and is this what you want to connect to the new unit .

I would put a single phase consumer unit in the outside cabin, and feed it from the 3 phase box (distribution board??) in your unit and then take your sockets, lights, whatever from that (presuming you want single phase sockets in the cabin, not 3 phase). You would normally just fit a single phase breaker in one phase of one way in the three phase board in your unit, and blank the other two phases in that way or use em for something else. None of which you can do yourself - sizing cables/MCB type and sizing/install/testing/certificate......
