Why are communist leader so rich?

Recommended Posts

Are you claiming to know that over 1,000,000,000 Chinese do mind. :o

There has been a growth of sedition and other forms of protest,so I presume some do mind.It is an opaque country from which hard evidence is virtually unobtainable, except for some eccentric person living in South Yorkshire.

I wouldn't doubt it. The communist leaders were all for collectivism and "from each according to his abilities, to each according to their needs", so long as it didn't apply to them. Their needs-to-abilities ratios were always rather high. ;)

If the west had been more supportive of communism it might have taken on a more democratic shape, with greater participation. When communist leaders have lived in a modest fashion the West have denigrated their conduct.

Well that and their current economy is geared towards selling their wares overseas.

China's the workshop of the world now - very export based.

The economy is still growing at an impressive rate, but they need to work on domestic demand - which means they need to start to tackle the massive wage gap that exists in the country.

So don't expect to have to learn to speak Chinese in the next couple of years, there is alot of stuff for them to sort out if they want to overtake America as the worlds number one economy.

And the massive wage gap in this Country?

Its only the same in the UK.

Many communists in the UK live in leafy areas of citys, just look at Sheffield.

TO be fair many communists/socialists are more "in it for the money" than true blue tory voting business owners

Who are the Communists in Sheffield ? Not on the council or in Government they are not even socialists any more.

Trotsy on the other hand had luxury houses in both Paris and Mexico

No he didn't. Trotsky rented his property, and at various times in his life he was above averagely wealthy or on the verge of bankruptcy.

After his expulsion from Russia he had an income from writing, and necessity pushed him to write what he considered rushed histories of the revolution and a shallow biography of Stalin. After that he didn't have any more popular subjects to explore and had to rely on journalism and marxist literature to make a living.
