Making maggots at home

My dad used to use dead wood pigeons he'd find on roads he swore by them to make big juicy maggots.

He would hang them up in a plastic bag with holes in with a catch tray or bucket under it.

these maggots were called 'gozzers'. they were bigger and softer than normal maggots and were particularly good for bream.

Gozzers that's the ones:) I was going to ask him tomorrow when I see him.

I also can remember now how he said how bream loved them.

He was a top angler in his time and won many matches all over the country, he's taught me all I know but I returned the favour when I showed him how to fish with hair rigs :)
