Not much to do with Lampard getting fired but reminded me of a story from a few years ago: Former Italy international and A.C Milan player Gianni Rivera was fed up with being left out of team by new owners of A.C Milan who deemed he was no longer good enough. Having amassed some wealth during his football career, he proceeded to buy the majority of shares in the club-making him the new owner- then firing the old owners, and re-installing himself back in the first team as player/coach. Wonder if that could happen in U.K ? Edited January 23, 2023 by St Petre

Failure = money in the top leagues.
Alextopman
When Steve Bruce took The Sheffield Wednesday managers he was said to be worth £48m if true a lot more of that was earned for getting the sack than playing football. Doubt if he can be bothered - think of the money he's already got from football and, probably dwarfing that, the cash rolling in from the rights to his films Shrek, Shrek 2, Shrek 3, Shrek 4 and now Shrek 5. crookesey
Going for top ex players isn’t a guarantee of managerial success, Ferguson and Wenger are good examples of that.

If I was Saints owner, I'd do anything to bring Poch in to end of the season- he has more chance in saving them than this guy.
