Chelsea just put him on gardening leave and continued to pay him his wage. The thing was if he wanted to take another job, he'd have to break the contract to work again, so Chelsea didn't pay the full terms of the contract that they owed to him because he ended up taking up a new job. Griffiths did not play in the previous match as well. The team should be selected on performance. In terms of technique and creative ability these two are possibly our best two players. How anyone can regard Steven Fletcher as good a player / striker as Leigh Griffiths is simply beyond me.
