Home owners revenge

If she didn't let him in presumably he would have just left so she must have. The OPS response was childish to say the least and he will find getting new kitchen quote very difficult now as he seems tio find imprisoning people acceptable way to behave:roll::roll:

The error you are making here is presuming. The salesman would not leave and this distressed the wife.

Where the OP says:

salesman decided to call and try and make a sale and would not take no for an answer.

Unless they stood there on the doorstep going through all their sales pitch and then kept refusing to take no for answer what else happened.

Either way, the fact that they were on the property long enough to "try to make a sale" and "not take no for an answer" means that his wife stood there and listened. That means for the time he was there he was a LAWFUL VISITOR.

If the OP's wife was so distressed by their impromptu visit they could have either not answered, closed the door on them or even call the police if they refused to leave the property.

Still no excuse for anyone taking the law into their own hands.

From the OP , it is not stated how long the salesman was there. It sounds like he stood on the doorstep distressing the wife by refusing to take no for an answer. It in no way means that the wife stood there listening-she was distressed and just wanted the “intruder” to leave from the moment he arrived. The wife would probably have had no idea who was knocking on the door and had to open it to see. The salesman may have had his foot in the door preventing it from being closed. Certainly something of that nature caused the wife to be distressed. (It could have been because she has an husband called Sandie).

Firstly I find it very very hard to believe that even the most persistant salesman would stand outside on the doorstep and try to hard sell someone a kitchen!! its not a broom or a dozen clothes pegs.

Lets not forget the OP said "try and make a sale". You really think that is seriously possible on a door step whilst someone is supposedly so distressed by your presence that they dont invite you in or potentially close the door on you.

Secondly, if they (very unlikely) attempted to keep their foot in the door why was the police not called. Where is the arrest for tresspass, where is the formal complaint to the company???

It wouldn't matter if they were on the doorstep for five seconds or five minutes. If you are stood there listening to them that is lawful presence. If you dont like it you call the police.

Finally if you are so distressed about this where would be the benefit in blocking them in and thus keeping them on the said property???

Its all too fishy. I just dont get it.

Clearly the OP thinks they were really clever and is clearly satisifed to be bragging about it on here. Good luck to them getting a kitchen. They have made themselves out to be complete nutters.
