SevenRivers
Denmark are to drop the world's first fat tax. The tax increased companies administration costs, inflated food prices, Danes were crossing the border into Germany to stock up on fatty foods, and Danish jobs were put at risk, with the Danish Food Workers Union estimating at 1300 job losses since the tax was introduced. http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/worldviews/wp/2012/11/11/what-the-world-can-learn-from-denmarks-failed-fat-tax/ Hopefully that's the nail in the coffin for any such UK ambitions.
