So now as I understand it - despite someone getting a summons to attend court - your advice it to ignore it?

And if it isn't to ignore it what is your advice?

I havnt told anyone to ignore court summons . I have had many of these scam invoices ,and ive always ignored every pice of junk mail the parking cowboys have sent me, and ive never once received court papers. So until the day may come that one of the scammers decides to chance their arm and send me a court summons i will continue to ignore and bin everything they send me.

Time after time you have posted that you ignore all these letters from PPC's and you have never been taken to court.

Again and again I have posted it is the wrong advice since the law changed in October 2012.

Why do you keep posting it, unless you believe it to be true. Following that and similar advice has led to people getting court summonses. Which could easily have been stopped much earlier.

Is he giving advice or simply relating his own experience?

When I have posted what is generally accepted wisdom by other specialist parking forums with regard to how to handle these charges, which are essentially scams - private companies cannot "fine" people.

I do this in order to stop ordinary people being bullied by these Private Parking Companies into paying invoices they don't have to pay.

Of course it could just be just a coincidence I often get a post shortly afterwards relating the 'ignore' experiences. Which was a valid tactic until the law changed in October 2012.

Parked in Meadowhall Retail Park 23 minutes longer than the 3 hours "allowed" - received a contractual parking charge notice for £50. (In Pizza Hut the whole time) Determined to challenge the behaviour of the company issuing the faux "fine", so paid £25, launched an appeal to the company and just over 2 weeks later, received a cheque for the same amount. Done everything above board, baby has now been put to bed!
