hauxwell
has anyone been to Chatsworth Christmas Market. It's on this weekend and next. I was told it is £10 to park your car and if you want to buy a pork or beef sandwich from one of the Chatsworth stalls it is £5. Parking was only £3 last year. I think the Duke and Duchess are out of touch.
*Turbo*
I think the £10 includes a voucher of £5 to spend on attractions
cgksheff
........... I think the Duke and Duchess are out of touch. If you watch the hordes of cars happy to spend hours sitting in queues at the weekends, I think that you will find that they (and their team) are very good at gauging what the punters will fork out. hauxwell
not everyone wants to visit the attractions (the house). I use to take my mother and I was quite happy to pay the £3 parking. She would go into the Carriage Restaurant and have a drink and a piece of cake while I looked at the Christmas Market, she could not walk very far. We were only there for just over an hour. I really think £10 is to much. Perhaps they have increased the price for all the work they have done on the structure of the house. I must admitt the house does look very smart as you approach it. Lets hope they do not get the normal amout of visitors as they use to get in the past.
Happ Hazzard
The DUke is already one of the richest men in Britain. It is just greed to charge £10.
scousemouse
I am going to see the decorations in the house in December, the theme this year is pantomime!! Not sure of the price though, a bit cheaper for us OAP's!!
hauxwell
I think it is £14 to go round the house. I have also been told that they are only using one floor this year.
Blackbeard
If you think that it must be Rip-off Britain again take a look at an American version of Chatsworth, Biltmore in North Carolina if you book your visit 7 days in advance you get a discount and it is only $49 about £30.80 each!! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biltmore_Estate or book at http://www.biltmore.com/visit/calendar/christmas.asp I think they do let you park for free. If you are in the area it is worth a visit.
